Summary
Ellen McKeown was the youngest child of Robert and Eliza McKeown. She was the youngest of nine children. All the children were born in the Moneymore – Coagh area. Her father was a farmer. Nellie became a nurse and was working and living in Belfast by 1911. She joined the Q.A.I.M.N.S.R. in the spring of 1917. She was posted to Dover on 2nd May 1917, where she served at the Military Hospital, Dover during the war. In March 1919, after demobilisation, she returned to Belfast.
