David Young was the third son of David and Eliza Young. David Young and Eliza Marks were married on 7th April 1888 in the district of Cookstown.
David Young (junior) was born on 26th October 1894. He was one of at least eight children, all born in the Coagh area.
The 1901 census lists David as age 7, living with the family at house 9 in Mullaghwotragh, Munterevlin, County Tyrone. His father was a labourer.
Known family: David Young, Eliza Young, Robert Young (born 19th June 1888), John Young (born 14th March 1890), David Young (born 26th October 1894), William J Young (born 11th March 1898), Samuel Young (born 23rd June 1904), Walter Young (born 12th June 1906), Eileen Young (born 22nd October 1908).
The 1911 census does not list David as living with the family at house 15 in Drumad, Coagh. However, there is a listing for a 17 David Young at house 18 in Drumconway, Coagh. He was working as a farm servant.
Driver David Young served with the Royal Field Artillery in the war.
Driver David Young was 24 years old when the war ended.
