The information included in the database is based on the original research by the Friends of The Somme Mid Ulster Branch.

• There are significant links to external references.
• One of the objectives of the site is to gather a photo of each casualty and a photo of each gravestone or memorial inscription.
• Another addition to the limitations of the book is the addition of extra photos, both to cemeteries and casualties.
• A novel section is the Memorials section which lists all casualties below a picture of the particular local memorial. All casualties can then be accessed via a click.
• The casualty database is searchable so making it easier to find a particular person.
• There are many more upgrades to made to the site. Maps and dates being the immediate objectives.

In the case of the cemeteries, links to the equivalent Commonwealth War Grave Commission (CWGC) cemetery. Also Google has been utilised to map the location of each cemetery..

In the case of the casualties, again the actual Commonwealth War Grave Commission (CWGC) casualty is available. As well as these standard links, a reference section exists below each casualty. These include reference to census results and links to other people mentioned in the database. Specific references to other relevant internet pages are also listed.

Clicking on the Casualties gives you a list everyone in the database. To the left are "gravestone" and "bust" icons. These show whether the casualty has a photo available or a photo of the grave. Our aim is to fill up the empty spaces so a photo of the person and the grave can be seen for all casualties

In the Memorials section, you can click on a memorial and get a photo of the people listed on that memorial. Below the photo is a clickable list of all the casualties on the memorial.
