Lewis Coyle was the son of Lewis and Lucy Coyle. He was born on 5th May 1881. He was one of, what is believed to have been, eight children, five surviving. All the children were born in the Coagh - Ardboe area. They were a family of fishermen. They lived on the edge of Coagh village before moving to Cluntoe on the lough shore. Private Lewis Coyle served with the 2nd Kings Own Scottish Borderers in the war. He was 37 years old when the war ended.
