The History of Coagh booklet lists Private William Freeburn as having served with the United States Expeditionary Force in the war. William Freeburn was born about 1881. The 1901 census lists a William Freeburn as age 20, living at house 11 in Tamlaght, Springhill. He was a farm servant. It seems William Freeburn emigrated to America, where he enlisted. There is a listing for a William Freeburn emigrating from Londonderry to New York on 12th October 1912.
