At present, there is no information on his pre-war life. Private Patrick Higgins was serving in France in late June 1916 when he was injured. He suffered a fractured wrist and had two fingers of his left hand amputated. Patrick Higgins was discharged from the army on 15th November 1916 due to his injuries.
