The Coagh Presbyterian Church in Ireland Roll of Honour 1914-1919 lists a Cadet James Cowan of Annahavil who served with the Royal Navy Reserve. James Cowan was the son of James and Annie Cowan. He was born on 24th October 1901. He was one of nine children, all born in the Moneymore area. Cadet James Cowan survived the war.
