The 1911 census lists Thomas as age 33, living with relatives at house 16 in Derrycrin (Conyngham), Munterevlin, County Tyrone. The townland of Derrycrin lies between Coagh and Ardboe. Thomas was a motor driver.

Thomas Doyle (Reg No T/392888) was thought to be the best match because he was a driver with the Royal Army Service Corps.

Driver Doyle was discharged on 9th June 1918 due to illness. According to records, he did not serve overseas.
