| The following report from June 1916 records his brother William as being home on leave. It also notes that two of the four brothers had been injured. It is not known if Isaac was one of these.

| Private William Gordon, son of Mr William Gordon, Drapersfield, who went out to Canada as a youth six years ago, and who joined the Canadian forces last year, is visiting on furlough at the old home. He has been in England for the past seven months, and expects to go to the front soon. He is in first class form. He is one of four brothers in the army, two of whom have been wounded.
