Thomas MacKeown was the son of James and Mary Jane McKeown. He was born on 19th July 1887. He was one of at least eight children, all born in the Coagh area. The family lived at Crumlin Cottage, Coagh. Thomas emigrated to America. Prior to enlisting. He was living in New York. He was working as a chauffeur. Thomas enlisted in July 1918 in Canada. Private Thomas MacKeown served with the Canadian Army Service Corps. He reached England, but Private Thomas MacKeown did not serve in France.
